URCID is indicated for the treatment of radiolucent, noncalcified gallbladder stones less than 20 mm in diameter in patients for whom elective cholecystectomy is not suitable due to increased surgical risk, advanced age, idiosyncratic reaction to general anesthesia, or patient refusal. It is also indicated for the prevention of gallstone formation in obese patients experiencing rapid weight loss.
