Sodium Bicarbonate

Sodium Bicarbonate Injection is used to treat metabolic acidosis caused by conditions like kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, shock, severe dehydration, cardiac arrest, or lactic acidosis. It also helps in certain poisonings (such as barbiturates, salicylates, or methanol), hemolytic reactions, and severe diarrhea with bicarbonate loss. Treatment should address the underlying cause, but bicarbonate is given to quickly correct dangerous acid levels in the blood.
